Stay Comfy in Your OP15

Beat the cold or heat with your OP15 2025’s Truma Combi heater and Dometic Penguin II A/C! This guide makes it easy to stay comfortable year-round on your off-road trips.

Setting Up and Using the Truma Combi Heater

  • Initial Setup: The Truma Combi is installed under a bed or in the floor well, with vents near the ceiling. Connect it to the propane cylinder via the quick-connect and ensure the 12V battery is on.
  • Turning On: Reset the digital thermostat by holding the button for 5 seconds until it beeps. Set your desired temperature (e.g., 65°F), and the unit will ignite, circulating warm air.
  • Hot Water: Switch to hot water mode on the thermostat to heat the 2.6-gallon tank—great for showers.
  • Turning Off: Set the thermostat to “Off,” wait 2-3 minutes for the fan to cool, and turn off the propane valve.

Setting Up and Using the Dometic Penguin II A/C

  • Initial Setup: Mount the A/C unit on the roof and connect to a 120V, 30 Amp shore power source or generator (minimum 2000W) via the exterior hookup.
  • Cooling Mode: Turn on the A/C breaker, set the thermostat to “Cool,” and select a temperature (e.g., 75°F). Cold air flows in 5-10 minutes.
  • Heat Pump Mode: Switch to “Heat” (effective above 40°F) and adjust the fan speed for mild warmth.
  • Shutting Down: Turn off the breaker and thermostat, then disconnect power if moving.

Performance Tips

  • Truma Combi: Offers 4000-8000 BTU, heating the interior in 15-20 minutes. A propane cylinder lasts 20-30 hours on low.
  • Dometic A/C: Cools up to 95°F; heat pump adds gentle warmth but isn’t a primary heater.

Maintenance and Care

  • Truma Combi: Clean vents annually with a vacuum; service the burner yearly.
  • Dometic A/C: Wash the filter monthly with mild soap; brush condenser fins yearly.

Safety Tips

  • Keep vents clear to avoid carbon monoxide risks with the Truma Combi.
  • Use the A/C only with stable power to prevent issues.
