New Trailer Maintenance

  • Trailer Brakes: Adjust the 12V electric drum brakes after the first 200 miles, then every 3,000 miles. Listen for squealing and clean debris if needed.
  • Suspension, Wheels & Hitch Bolts: Torque bolts to 100 ft-lbs after 50 and 500 miles, then every 2,000 miles. Grease suspension fittings quarterly.
  • Potable Water Tank: Sanitize the 63-gallon tanks with 1/4 cup bleach per 15 gallons before first use, rinsing thoroughly. Clean every 6 months.
  • Brakes/Brake Adjustments: Check for wear and adjust tension annually.
  • Seals, Springs, etc.: Inspect finned seals for cracks monthly; lubricate with silicone yearly. Replace gas springs every 3-5 years.

Weathering

  • Zips & Velcro: Clean with a soft brush and mild soap; apply lubricant every few months.
  • Cleaning Panels: Use a sponge and cool water—no detergents. Deep clean with tent cleaner if needed, testing first.

Customer Responsibilities

  • External Care: Rinse with fresh water after trips; use car wash soap on the enamel body.
  • Internal Care: Vacuum leatherette cushions weekly; wipe spills with a damp cloth.

Storage

  • Long-Term Storage: Store indoors or under a cover; clean and retract all components.
  • Battery Maintenance: Disconnect or use a trickle charger to maintain 12.2V+; check monthly.

Potable Water System

  • Winterizing: Drain tanks, add RV antifreeze, and flush post-winter.
  • Returning to the Road: Flush with fresh water, sanitize, and refill.

Greasing & Servicing

  • Service Requirements: Annual professional check of brakes, suspension, and electrical.
  • Changing a Tire: Use a jack at the suspension point, torque lugs to 100 ft-lbs.
