Hitching Up Made Simple
DO35 Cruisemaster
- Remove the tow pin cover and apply a light coat of grease to the surfaces.
- Raise the trailer above the tow pin using the jockey wheel, then depress the red button to slide the lock open.
- Align and lower the coupling onto the tow pin until fully seated, then release the button to lock. Snap the Checklock cap into place.
- Tip: Add a hitch lock for extra security during travel.
Safety First: Attach the safety chains to your vehicle’s bumper or receiver (not the hitch) and cross them to manage slack. Always check local towing laws before setting out.
Towing Guidelines for a Smooth Ride
- Wheels and Tires: Your OP15 2025 features 265/75R/16 mud tires on alloy wheels. Torque lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern after installation. Check tire pressure monthly using the recommended PSI on the door sticker.
- Electrical Brake Plug: Connect the 7-pin plug to your tow vehicle for lights and brake operation.
- Safety Chains: Cross and secure them to the tow vehicle for added safety.
- Brakes and Brake Maintenance: The 12V electric drum brakes with e-brake need adjustment after the first 200 miles and every 3,000 miles. Listen for a humming sound to confirm they’re working.
- Stabilizer Legs: Raise all four corner steadies fully before towing to avoid dragging.
- Towing Guidelines: Ensure the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 6,393 lbs and cargo capacity of 1,640 lbs are not exceeded. Verify your driver’s license allows towing this weight.
Why It Matters: Proper towing keeps your OP15 2025 safe and ready for more trips, preserving its 14” ground clearance.
