OP4 Camper Setup Guide

Set Up Your OP4 Camper

Ready to start your off-road adventure? Setting up your OP4 is a breeze with this step-by-step guide! Designed for ease and safety, these instructions will have you camping in no time. Let’s get started!

Before You Begin

  • Park Smart: Find level ground and set the handbrake.
  • Safety First: Close all quick-release valves (5 on driver’s side) and remove items from the cargo rack.
  • Power Up: Turn the red key on the control panel to wake up your OP4.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Lower the Spare Tire

  • Un-clip the spare wheel carrier and gently lower it to horizontal. Support it to avoid a sudden drop!
  • Why It Matters: Gives you room to work and adds stability.

2. Unfold the Cargo Rack

  • Un-clip latches on the passenger side, remove locking pins on the driver’s side, and unfold the rack. Re-secure with pins.
  • Pro Tip: Double-check pins are locked to hold your 500 lbs of gear safely.

3. Open and Secure the Bed Lids

  • Open the front lid 180° (gas struts help!), latch it to the stone guard with a D-pin.
  • Do the same for the rear lid, folding out support legs and securing with D-pins.
  • Walk around to ensure the canvas fits into the aluminum channels without snags.
  • Tuck canvas corners over bed trays, aligning seams.
  • Heads-Up: Check for trapped fabric to avoid tears—your tent deserves care!

4. Inflate the Tent

  • Hit the Air Inflation button on the control panel.
  • The tent inflates to 6.5 PSI and stops automatically. Remove the hose and cap the inlet.
  • Expert Tip: Adjust to 9 PSI max with the compressor dial for high altitudes or windy days. Use the manual pump (5 min) if needed.
  • Safety Note: Wait until fully inflated before entering, and keep kids 5 ft away.

5. Set Up the Exterior

  • Fold down the stabilizer legs: Pull the blue handle, bring to vertical, insert the pin, and wind down until they touch the ground.
  • Adjust for a level setup based on your terrain.
  • Set up your kitchen (see our Kitchen Guide).
  • Why It Helps: Leveling gives you a stable camper so it doesn't move around whilst you are inside.

6. Arrange the Interior

  • Unlock the door with the triangle-key, support its weight, and adjust steps (unhook pins, slide legs).
  • Turn on lights via the control panel; dim the foot-well lights with the switch.
  • Plug in ceiling lights to 12V mini outlets.
  • Set up the sofa: Start with the center-back cushion, then corners and sides.
  • Fold out the table legs and adjust the height.
  • Extra Space: Convert seating to a third bed or add the King extension (see Beds Guide).
  • Comfort Add-Ons: Use the Porta potti; optional furnace or A/C (needs shore power).

Quick Setup Checklist

  • Lower spare tire.
