Time to head home? Follow these steps to pack down your OP13 2025 safely and efficiently. Proper pack-down protects your camper and keeps it ready for your next adventure! This guide is based on the official 2025 OP13 Owners Manual (Pages 20-21), providing detailed instructions to ensure a smooth process. It’s best with 1-2 people and takes about 15-20 minutes once familiar. Always review the full manual for safety warnings and warranty details.
Pre-Pack-Down Checks
- Stow all personal items securely inside the OP13 2025, including folding up the main bed mattress (70” x 60”) and bunk mattress (75” x 30”).
- Close all windows, vents, and the Fiamma F45S awning to prevent damage or water ingress.
- Secure any loose cushions or gear to avoid shifting during travel, and ensure the Dual Zone 12V Fridge is turned off or set to low.
- Safety Note: Turn off all power and propane systems before starting to avoid electrical or gas hazards.
Step-by-Step Pack-Down
Step 1: Pack Down the Interior
- Ensure everyone has exited the camper, then fold up the main bed and bunk mattress and close the entry door securely.
- Tip: Organize items in the lightweight composite cabinetry and wardrobe to prevent road damage, and double-check the bathroom for secured items like the portable toilet.
Step 2: Lower the Roof
- Locate the switch labeled “Roof” on the left side of the entry door.
- Press the bottom of the button and hold until the roof is fully retracted using the installed actuators.
- Caution: Ensure all latches are released and the area is clear before activating—actuators provide smooth lowering, but monitor for any unusual noises.
- Warning: If the battery is low, use the roof back-up battery in the main battery compartment to avoid strain on the system.
Step 3: Fold Away the Bed
- Release the latch clamps and pins on the rear end wall panel, then lower it using the handle.
- Carefully lift the rear bed panel to the vertical position and secure the two rear bed end locks.
- Warning: Have a helper hold each panel to prevent sudden drops, especially on uneven ground—failure to support could cause injury or damage.
- Detail: Ensure the canvas is tucked neatly within the aluminum channels to avoid snags during folding.
Step 4: Fold Side Panels
- Fold the right side panel inward to 0 degrees by rotating the spring bolt to secure it, then repeat for the left side panel.
- Tip: Check for proper alignment in the roof grooves to ensure a tight seal when closed.
Step 5: Lower Rear Panel
- Lower the back panel from the roof position and secure the rear panel locks with the push-buttons, ensuring a tight seal with the finned rubber seals.
- Detail: Verify the panel is fully seated to prevent water ingress during travel.
Step 6: Secure Spare Tires
- Fold the spare tire brackets up and secure with the lever handle and pins.
- Caution: Use the gas struts to assist lifting, and double-check the D-pin is in place to avoid movement.
Step 7: Swing Jerry Cans to Front
- Unhook the Jerry Can from the latch, push the securing spring to move the cages to the travel position, and insert the securing pin.
- Tip: Ensure the 2 x 5-gallon Jerry Cans are empty or secured to reduce weight on the tongue.
Step 8: Secure Roof Latches
- Reconnect the four roof securing latches: Hook the handle into place and push down until the release pin locks.
Step 9: Raise Stabilizer Legs
- Use the winder or a 3/4" hex drill attachment to wind up each of the four corner steadies until fully retracted. Push the blue handle inward to lock them at 0 degrees.
- Warning: Support each leg as you raise it to prevent bolt damage.
Step 10: Raise Tongue Jack and Hitch
- Wind up the tongue jack to raise the tongue, then reconnect the DO35 Cruisemaster hitch to your tow vehicle if previously unhitched.
- Attach the safety chains and breakaway cable, then disengage the e-brake once hitched.
- Detail: Adjust the jockey wheel for horizontal leveling before hitching.
