Pack Down Your OP4 Camper

Time to head home? Packing down your OP4 is simple with this guide, keeping your camper safe and ready for your next trip.

Follow these steps to protect your investment and enjoy peace of mind on the road!

Before You Start

  • Stow all personal items inside.
  • Close windows (both layers, no debris).
  • Secure mattresses with straps.
  • Unplug and remove LED lights.
  • Tear down the sofa and table; store cushions and table in the foot well for protection.

Step-by-Step Pack-Down

1. Pack Up the Interior

  • Make sure everyone’s out, then zip the front door closed.
  • Tip: Neat storage prevents damage during travel—take your time!

2. Deflate the Tent

  • Open all 5 quick-release valves on the driver’s side (use the middle ring to release).
  • Let it fully deflate.

3. Fold Away the Bed Lids

  • Lift the canvas off the bed corners and tuck it into the seals.
  • Retract the steps, fold, and latch the door.
  • Disconnect the bed supports and latches; fold the rear lid first, then the front.
  • Walk around to pull the tent into the body, ensuring no fabric gets trapped in hinges.
  • Push the lids down to push out air, latch hinges at max extension, and tighten latches gradually.
  • Check the seal all around.
  • Caution: Don’t use latches as levers—damage isn’t covered by warranty!

4. Stow the Kitchen

  • Disconnect the water and gas quick connects, plus the 12V light.
  • Tuck hoses into the drawer and close it.
  • Fold the support leg (use the push-button pin to secure it).
  • Slide the kitchen in and lock with spring bolts.
  • Close and lock the storage door.
  • Safety Note: Never stow a hot kitchen—let it cool, and ensure cords/hoses are retracted.

5. Get Ready to Travel

  • Fold the cargo rack and secure with latches, triangle bolts, and safety pins.
  • Retract and fold the stabilizer legs.
  • Latch and lock all compartments.
  • Connect to your tow vehicle; lock the hitch, attach safety chains, breakaway cable, and 7-pin plug.
  • Raise the tongue jack.
  • Do a pre-trip check to ensure everything’s secure.
  • Extra Step: Drain the water system (see Water Guide) to avoid freezing or mold—especially important for winter travel!

Quick Pack-Down Checklist

  • Pack up inside.
  • Deflate the tent.
  • Fold the bed lids.
  • Stow the kitchen.
  • Secure for travel.

Time: 10-15 minutes—practice makes perfect! Safety Tip: Turn off all systems and double-check for trapped fabric to avoid tears. Proper pack-down means no repairs, keeping your OP4 adventure-ready!
