Ready to kick off your off-road adventure? Setting up your OP13 2025 is a breeze with this step-by-step guide! Based on the official 2025 OP13 Owners Manual, these instructions are designed for ease and safety, ensuring you’re camping comfortably in no time. It’s best with 1-2 people and takes about 15-20 minutes once you’re familiar. Always review the full manual for safety warnings and warranty details. Let’s get started!
Before You Begin
- Towing and Parking: Find a level, firm spot for your OP13 2025, avoiding soft or uneven ground to prevent shifting. Check the towing section (Page 5) before unhitching.
- Safety Checks: Inspect the camper for visible damage or loose items. Keep the area clear of people and obstacles.
- Power Up: Turn the red key on the control panel to activate the electrical system.
Quick Setup Overview (For Experienced Users)
This summary covers the seven key steps from the manual’s setup guide (Pages 7-10). Use it as a reference after a few setups:
- Unhitch & Level: Engage the handbrake, level with the tongue jack wheel, and remove items from the cargo rack.
- Release Securing Latches: Disconnect the four roof securing latches by pushing the release pin and lifting the handle.
- Lower the Tires: Release the tire carrier holder, remove the D-pin from the latch with the red handle, and fold down the spares using gas struts.
- Swing Jerry Cans to Side: Remove the securing pin, pull the spring to release the cages, and hook the Jerry Can through the latch.
- Extend the Rear: Open the rear panel locks, lift the back panel to the roof, rotate the spring bolt, open side panels, fold down the bed panel, and secure the end wall with pins and clamps.
- Extend the Roof: Turn on power, release all latches, locate the "Roof" switch, and press and hold to fully extend.
- Stabilizer Legs: Fold down using the blue handle, wind down with the winder or drill, and adjust for level.
Tips: Use a helper for heavy parts. If the battery is dead, use the roof back-up power switch in the main battery compartment.
Full Detailed Setup Guide
This expands on the manual’s setup instructions (Pages 7-10). Follow these steps in order, with warnings highlighted.
Step 1: Unhitch & Level
- Position your OP13 2025 in the desired location and engage the handbrake.
- Raise or lower the tongue jack wheel to level the camper lengthways, using the level on the tongue to check.
- Remove all items from the cargo rack to prepare for unfolding.
Step 2: Release Securing Latches
- Disconnect the four roof securing latches: Use your thumb to push in the release pin and lift the handle to release from the hook completely.
Step 3: Lower the Tires
- Remove the pin from the right side of the tire carrier holder.
- Pull the large securing pin out of the trailer arm.
- Remove the D-pin from the latch with the red handle.
- Release the latch with the red handle to unlock the tire.
- Fold down one spare at a time using the gas struts to assist you.
- Repeat with the other tire.
Step 4: Swing Jerry Cans to Side
- Remove the securing pin and unlatch both sides of the Jerry Cans.
- Pull the securing spring to release the cages from the travel position.
- Hook the Jerry Can through the latch to secure it during setup.
Step 5: Extend the Rear
- Use the push-buttons to open the rear panel securing locks. Lift the back panel upwards to the roof position.
- Using one hand or a helper to hold the roof panel up, pull and rotate the spring bolt that secures the side panel until it is in the vertical position. This allows the side panels to swing outwards.
- Open the left side panel fully through 90 degrees, ensuring the panel meets the corner groove of the roof panel for a full seal. Repeat with the right side panel.
- Holding the bed panel securely, release the two rear bed panel securing latches and fold down the bed panel.
- Carefully lower the rear bed panel into the horizontal position.
- Use the handle to lift the rear end wall panel in place.
- Slide the two locking pins in place and then secure with the latch clamps.
- Warning: Have a helper hold the panel before releasing latches—it can shift on inclines. Failure to support could cause injury or damage.
Step 6: Extend the Roof
- Turn on the power on the control panel located inside your OP13.
- Ensure all four exterior latches are properly released.
- Locate the switch labeled “Roof” on the left side of your entry door.
- Press the top of the button and hold until the roof is fully extended.
- Tip: If the battery is dead, use the dedicated roof back-up battery and switch in the main battery compartment.
Step 7: Stabilizer Legs
- Fold down the stabilizer leg using two hands; one to pull out the blue handle and the other to support the weight of the leg into the vertical position. This helps prevent damage to the locking pins.
- Use the included corner steady winder or 3/4’’ hex socket cordless drill/driver attachment to wind down each corner steady leg until it touches the ground.
- Depending on the terrain, adjust each corner to level the OPUS® to achieve a good level.
Post-Setup Checks
- Control Panel (Page 3): Turn on master power and check battery level (>20%), voltage (>12.2V), and water tank levels (40 gal potable, 10 gal grey, 8 gal black).
- Electrical: Test 12V outlets, lights, and the inverter.
- Water and Gas: Fill the potable tank, test the pump and Truma Combi hot water, and install the gas cylinder to test the stove.
- Interior: Set up the main bed (70” x 60”) and bunk (75” x 30”), deploy the Fiamma F45S awning (Page 10), A/C (Page 14), heater (Page 26), and stereo (Page 32).
- Safety: Test the CO/LP alarm and fire extinguisher.
