This step-by-step guide makes setting up your camper a breeze, leveraging Purple Line LLC’s patented inflatable tent technology for a quick and reliable camping experience.

Ready to hit the trails with your OP2 2025? This step-by-step guide makes setting up your camper a breeze, leveraging Purple Line LLC’s patented inflatable tent technology for a quick and reliable camping experience. Based on the official 2025 OP2 User Manual (Pages 6-10), these instructions ensure safety and efficiency, getting you camping comfortably in 10-15 minutes with 1-2 people. With features like the Lock’n’Roll hitch, 40-gallon water system, and storage for two 20-lb propane tanks, your OP2 is built for adventure. Always review the full manual for safety warnings and warranty details. Let’s get started!

Before You Begin

  • Towing and Parking: Find a level, firm spot for your OP2, avoiding soft or uneven ground to prevent shifting. Check the towing section (Pages 4-5) before unhitching to ensure proper procedure with the Lock’n’Roll or optional Cruisemaster DO35 hitch.
  • Safety Checks: Inspect the camper for visible damage or loose items (e.g., cargo on the 500 lbs rack). Clear the area of obstacles and people to avoid accidents during setup.
  • Power Up: Turn the red key on the control panel (right of entry) to activate the electrical system, powering the air pump, LED lights, and 2 x 100Ah AGM batteries (or optional lithium batteries).
  • Tools Needed: Winder for stabilizer legs, optional cordless drill with 3/4” hex socket for faster leg adjustment, bubble level for precise leveling, and silicone spray for zippers if needed.

Quick Setup Overview (For Experienced Users)

This summary covers the six key steps from the manual’s quick guide (Page 6). Use it as a reference after a few setups:

  1. Position and Stabilize: Engage the e-brake, lower the tongue jack, deploy corner steadies, fold down spare tires, and release roof latches.
  2. Open Rear Panel: Unlock and lift the front panel to the roof, securing side panels.
  3. Set Up Rear Bed: Unlock and fold down the rear bed section, securing the end wall.
  4. Deploy Kitchen: Slide out the kitchen, connect water and gas quick-connects.
  5. Interior Prep: Open the door, turn on power/lights, fold down steps, and set up the main bed.
  6. Raise Roof: Pull securing pins and lift roof bars (front first, then rear).
Tips: Use a helper for heavy panels. If upgraded to lithium batteries, monitor via the manufacturer’s app. Check water levels (40 gal potable).

Full Detailed Setup Guide

This expands on the manual’s instructions (Pages 6-10). Follow these steps in order, with warnings highlighted.

Step 1: Position the Trailer

  • Drive your OP2 to a firm, level campsite and engage the electric brake (e-brake) to secure it. Avoid soft or uneven ground to ensure stability.

Step 2: Unhitch from Tow Vehicle (Optional)

  • If unhitching, lower the tongue jack wheel until stable. Disconnect the Lock’n’Roll or Cruisemaster DO35 hitch by removing the locking pin and unhooking the two hook plates (Page 4). Store safety chains and breakaway cable safely.

Step 3: Level Horizontally

  • Adjust the tongue jack wheel to level the OP2 lengthways, using the bubble level on the tongue. Place a block or rock under the wheel if terrain is uneven.

Step 4: Deploy Stabilizer Legs (Corner Steadies)

  • Pull the blue handle on each of the four stabilizer legs to drop them to a 90-degree angle. Use the winder or a cordless drill with a 3/4” hex socket to lower until they touch the ground.
  • Use a bubble level inside to adjust legs for side-to-side leveling.
  • Warning: Stabilizer legs support but don’t lift—avoid over-adjusting to prevent damage to bolts or the chassis.

Step 5: Release Roof Latches

  • Disconnect the four roof securing latches by pushing the release pin with your thumb and lifting the handle to release from the hook. Check for smooth operation to avoid strain.

Step 6: Prepare Spare Tires

  • At the rear, unscrew the black spare tire securing bolts until removable from the holes, ensuring the 235/75R15 spare tire is accessible if needed.

Step 7: Fold Down Spare Tire Bracket

  • Release the spare tire securing latches with the red lever handle. Fold the handles and triangle pin downwards, then lower the bracket (gas-strut assisted) fully.

Step 8: Lift Rear Panel

  • Open the rear panel securing locks with push-buttons and lift the panel to the roof position.
  • Warning: Hold the panel or have a helper assist—it won’t stay up without securing the side panels, risking injury or damage.

Step 9: Secure Side Panels

  • With the roof panel held up, pull and rotate the spring bolt securing the side panel to the vertical position, allowing side panels to swing outwards.

Step 10: Open Side Panels

  • Swing the left side panel 90 degrees, ensuring it meets the roof panel’s top left corner groove for a water-tight seal. Repeat for the right side panel.

Step 11: Release Rear Bed Latches

  • Holding the bed panel securely, release the two rear bed panel securing latches and begin folding down the bed section.
  • Warning: Ensure a helper holds the panel before releasing latches—it can shift on inclines, risking injury or damage.

Step 12: Lower Rear Bed Panel

  • Carefully lower the rear bed panel to the horizontal position, ensuring the canvas aligns with the C-channels.

Step 13: Secure Rear End Wall

  • Use the handle to lift the rear end wall panel into place. Slide the two locking pins in and secure with latch clamps for stability.

Step 14: Deploy Kitchen

  • Open the two push-button latches and fold down the kitchen door to serve as a prep surface. Unhook the two locking spring-bolts, then slide the stainless steel kitchen out fully. Connect the water quick-connect (from the 40-gallon potable tanks) and gas quick-connect (from one of the two 20-lb propane tanks) at the kitchen points (Pages 15-17, 18-19).

Step 15: Set Up Drainage

  • Route the sink drainage hose from the kitchen bottom to an external grey water container (no built-in grey tank). Ensure the hose is kink-free for proper flow.

Step 16: Access Interior

  • Open and latch the entry door. Turn on the power at the control panel (right of entry) and switch on LED dimmable lights. Fold down the steps for safe access. Inside, fold down the main bed mattress (72” x 60”).

Step 17: Prepare Roof Lift

  • Pull out the securing pins for the front and rear lifting mechanisms, ensuring all latches are fully released.

Step 18: Raise and Secure Roof

  • Use the interior roof lift bars to push the roof up—start with the front end, then the rear. Slide the securing pins back in to lock the roof in place.
  • Tip: Lift steadily to avoid strain on the aluminum frame and polycotton tent. If equipped with an inflatable roof system, use the air pump powered by the 2 x 100Ah AGM batteries (or optional lithium).

Post-Setup Checks

  • Control Panel (Page 3): Turn on master power and check battery level (>50% for AGM, >20% for lithium), voltage (>12.2V), and water levels (40 gal potable).
  • Electrical: Connect to 30 Amp shore power (or optional 140-watt solar panel via solar port) and test outlets, lights, and stereo (Page 32).
  • Water and Gas: Fill the 40-gallon potable tanks (2 x 20 gal) with a potable hose. Test the 12V pump, Truma Combi hot water (Pages 15-17), and kitchen sink. Attach one 20-lb propane tank and test the 4-burner stove (Pages 18-19).
  • Interior: Set up the main bed (72” x 60”), optional bunk, and table. Deploy the optional inflatable air canopy for shade if equipped (Page 10).
  • Safety: Test the CO/LP detector (Page 24), fire extinguisher, and emergency exits (unzip bed-end panels).

Common Tips and Warnings

  • Teamwork: Use a partner for heavy lifts like panels or the roof to avoid injury or damage.
  • Level Ground: Uneven sites may cause sealing issues—adjust with steadies or blocks.
  • Weight Limits: Don’t exceed 1100 lbs load capacity or 4400 lbs GVWR to protect the suspension.
  • Packing Up: Reverse these steps (Pages 20-21) for pack-down.
  • Maintenance: Grease suspension fittings quarterly, check brakes/tires annually (Pages 33-36).
